The Roommate Agreement

Ethan and Chris had been roommates for three years, sharing everything from rent to pizza deliveries. Their dynamic was easy—they kept their lives separate enough to avoid drama but close enough to feel like family. Or so Ethan thought.

One night, while sorting through a delivery, Ethan mistakenly opened a package meant for Chris. Inside was a gift meant for someone special—a thoughtful, handwritten card and a small box of chocolates. Ethan teased Chris about it, and to his surprise, Chris blushed.

“Why so shy? Who’s the lucky guy?” Ethan asked, half-joking.

Chris hesitated before responding, “Well, I was hoping it might be you.”

Ethan froze, the teasing grin slipping off his face. He’d never thought about Chris that way—or maybe he had but didn’t want to admit it. Before he could respond, Chris leaned in and kissed him. It wasn’t awkward or rushed; it felt... right.

The next morning, they sat down to rewrite their unofficial roommate agreement. Alongside rules about keeping the bathroom clean, they added a new clause: no secrets, no pretending, and plenty of cuddling on movie nights.
